Praise for this book

Great book. Loved it. Excellent information and easy to read. Highly recommended.

This book is well-written, well-organized, and contains key nuggets of information for anyone considering a plant-based diet. I was particularly impressed with the sections dealing with the following topics: the example of elephants and gorillas; the real source for vitamin B12; the value of nuts and seeds; the ancient history of plant-based diets; easily accessible plant options for protein and B12 (“nutritional yeast” something I wasn’t aware of); the pluses and negatives of various cooking modes; insights into hunting animals; and how plants can be our “powerhouse.” As a strict vegetarian, I found several insights here I’ve not seen in other vegetarian books. For anyone wanting a clear view of the supposed main drawbacks of a plant-based diet plus how to overcome them, this book is a “must read.” Highly recommended!

I started a vegan based diet for athletic performance after watching the Game Changers documentary. Since I did that, there are so many people who question my diet. They are always concerned that I am not getting enough protein or vitamin B12. The author gave me so much good information to refute this. Reminding us that plants are packed with protein and how the strongest animals (buffalo, elephants, gorillas) eat a plant based diet. Keep in mind that gorillas share 98% of their DNA with humans. These powerful animals thrive on a plant based diet. I love how the author points out that gorillas have a high level of strength and low level of body fat. Meaning that plants do in fact support muscle development. So much good stuff in this book and confirms why I love my vegan way of life.
